Pamela, Graham and Finlay too.

Pamela & Graham had planned their wedding in Scotland and then decided to cancel everything and get married in Mauritius instead! No amount of persuading made them decide to take me with them as their photographer unfortunately.

Instead of the wedding in Scotland they organised a blessing at Carnoustie Church and then a reception in Wellbank Village.

On my way across to Carnoustie they weather in Glasgow was monsoon like and I was slightly concerned the day could be another wash out. But as the East Coast draw closer the clouds lifted and the sun came out producing a very pleasant warm afternoon.

We had a great afternoon and evening reception, Pamela & Grahams wee boy Finlay stole the show at the blessing ceremony wanting to share the spotlight with his parents, the three of them danced into the evening with all their friends and family around them.

Fiona & Chris - Blair Castle, Blair Atholl

Blair Atholl was heaving at the weekend, not because of Fiona & Chris's wedding (although a lot of friends and family had travelled up from Englandshire), but Blair Castle was also hosting a 3 day horse trial event next door!
By the time Fiona arrived all of the Castle Tourists had left and with the sun producing some late afternoon warmth in the air, all was set for a wonderful evening wedding.
Champagne was served on the lawn after the ceremony, with the guests enjoying the last of the evening sun before heading in to the Great Hall for dinner.
It was a lovely wedding with all of Fiona nd Chris's guests enjoying great Scottish hospitality.

Julie & Andrew - Kelvinside Hillhead Church & Hilton Grosvenor Hotel

Did it rain or what on Saturday! However it didn’t dampen Julie & Andrew’s day one bit. Kelvinside Hillhead Church is stunning, with its array of stainglass windows it certainly helped brighten up a gloomy day outside.

It was then a brisk walk down the road to the Hilton Grosvenor Hotel on Byres Road, they laid on a great reception for them and their guests. We did brave a few informal pictures outside under the protection of plenty of umbrellas but we had to beat a hasty retreat after a few minutes as it was just chucking it down.

Leonie & Roderick - Pittodrie House, Aberdeenshire

What a great venue Pittodrie House is. Leonie and Roderick had organised a fantastic few days for family and friends to come and stay at this wonderful country house.

The weather was kind to them, with the ceremony being held outdoors but their attention to detail (including a Falconry display whilst the formal pictures were being taken) made for a very relaxing and enjoyable day for everybody.

Annette & James - Glasgow University Chapel & Oran Mor

When I originally met with Annette and James, they had plans to wed at Linlithgow Palace, however their plans had to be changed and they chose Glasgow University Chapel instead. A great choice from a photography point of view as we had a bright day outside that created dramatic lighting inside through the fantastic stained glass windows.

Before they headed off to Oran Mor for their reception, we managed to take some pictures in the Cloisters area of the University, that created some great informal portraits.

Kirsten & Barry - Cadder Church & St Andrews In The Square

St Andrews In The Square is a fantastic wedding venue, so I was delighted when Kirsten & Barry asked me to do their wedding photographs. The wedding ceremony was at Cadder Church in Bishopbriggs which is a lovely church tucked up in the trees along the banks of the Forth & Clyde Canal.

Apart from me losing the wedding party on Glasgow Green the day went very smoothly with everybody having a great time.

Kathryn & Neil - Glencorse House

Well the run of fine weather well and truly ended at Glencorse House near Edinburgh at the weekend. Unfortunately Kathryn and Neil’s wedding was a soggy affair. However the marque facilities at Glencorse helped keep the day bright and warm for the Bride and Groom and their guests.

Lisa & Andy - Torridon Country House Hotel

A long but very worthwhile trip up to Torridon for Lisa & Andy’s wedding. A small intimate ceremony on the lawn of the Torridon Hotel surrounded by some stunning scenery made for a wonderful day.

Laura & Dan - Mount Stuart House, Isle of Bute

I hate to keep going on about the sun coming out at the right times, but it did again on Saturday. I beautiful day at Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute for Laura and Dan.

I had never been to Mount Stuart House before, I had read up on the venue and looked at many pictures to get an idea of its grandeur, but they hadn’t really prepared me for the scale and detail of the of the design and workmanship that went into building the house.

Quite simply breathtaking.

Scottish Wedding Directory

This latest edition of the Scottish Wedding Directory, features a wedding I covered at Eilean Donan Castle, and The Plockton Hotel, taken last Autumn.
The wedding pictures of Ashling and Michael caught the eye of the SWD editor who contacted me and asked if they could use the pictures in the next issue.
Ashling and Michael were thrilled that their photographs were chosen to be published, and added “we would be honored and privileged to talk to them”

Adele & Craig - Glasgow

Once again the sun came good at the right time. The weather had been prity poor on the run up to Adele & Craig’s big day, but the clouds parted and we had a glorious day.

Adele & Craig had asked me to take some pictures of them at Glasgow’s Science Centre, so on the way to Sherbrooke Castle Hotel, we stopped off which resulted in some prity cool shots of them mixed in with the metal structured architecture.

I have all the photographs uploaded, if you would like the password to view them please contact me.

PS. Hope you had a great time at T In The Park before heading off on honeymoon.

Samantha & Stuart - Strontian, Argyll

The sun gods really are shining on me this year so far. The weather over most of the country during the bank holiday weekend was wet, not in Strontian, Argyll, a sunny & warm weekend for Samantha & Stuart.

The Kilcamb Lodge Hotel in Strontian, literally rolled out the red carpet for Samantha & Stuart, hosting a marvelous outdoor ceremony setting in the hotels gardens with fireworks late in the evening. A great day.

Victoria & Adam - Fernie Castle, Fife.

Victoria and Adam and all their guests travelled from Hampshire and a few other places around the globe to Fernie Castle to celebrate this lovely couples wedding.

The weather was fantastic and the hospitality at Fernie Castle was first rate, making for a truly wonderful day.

Donna & Alun - Dornoch Cathedral, Dornoch

Well if this is only spring roll on Summer. The Bank Holiday weekend in Dornoch was absolutely fabulous.
Donna and Alun couldn’t have picked a better day for their wedding, the Cathedral was fantastic and with only a short stroll across the road to the Dornoch Castle Hotel it made for a very intimate day for themselves and their guests.

Catriona & Steffen - Glenfinnan Church, Fort William.

What a day Catriona & Steffen had, the weather was fantastic in the Scottish Highlands. Glenfinnan Church is a lovely little church nestled near the banks of Loch Shiel. The good weather allowed for some great pictures during the ceremony with the bright light streaming through the church windows.

Jessica & Andrew - St Andrews In The Square

St Andrews on the Square turned out to be a fantastic venue, all the hard work and attention to detail that Jessica and Andrew had put into their day really paid off. The rain even stopped for a few minutes and let us have a few pictures outside....great day.
