New Package Structure

For the past 2 years I have kept my products as simple as possible, the Pix & Mix option and one Package that included a wedding album. Both have been very succesful in providing my clients with the photography coverage and products they wanted to have.
At the beginning of the year, I introduced the Artemis leather book bound album as a stand alone product that can be purchased directly from the website or as part of the Pix and Mix option. This smaller, less expensive album has proved very popular so I decided to launch the album as a package to sit along side the Bellissimo Album.

The new packages are now described as the Bellissimo Album Package, Artemis Album Package and the Pix & Mix Package. Each package provides the same high quality photography but offer different products to appeal to a wider audience.

If you would like any further information regarding the new package deals please contact me for a chat.

Words of Encouragement

I covered Lisa & Marks wedding a few weeks ago at Channings Hotel in Edinburgh. I received a lovely card from at the end of last week that I thought I would post here.

Dear Nick,

Where can we start? Thank you so much for being the photographer for our wedding. We absolutely love the photographs and cant wait to get the album! So many people have commented on the quality of the photos, particularly the evening ones, they have also commented on the fact that you were completely unobtrusive - except of course when you were in the way of our friends photo during the signing of the register ... a truly hilarious moment!

As you know the photos were really important to us. You surpassed our expectations and words can’t express how happy we are. We wont hesitate to recommend you to friends, family, everyone we can.

With great thanks.

Lisa & Mark.

It makes me feel all warm inside. :o)

Culzean Castle

Have just been down to Culzean Castle in Ayrshire as a reckie for a wedding in July. What a setting! I was like a child in a sweet shop having a look around inside. The architecture is so wonderful, it lends itself so easily to photography.
The only draw back to a venue like this is there is almost too much choice for picture opportunities, I will need to make sure we get the pictures asked for and some creative portraits later in the evening but at the same time not forgot about the wedding reception and the 200 guests they have invited!
This is a Jewish wedding with all the Jewish wedding traditions, including Israeli dancing during the reception where the Bride & Groom are held above everybodys heads by the male guests whilst sitting on chairs!
The whole day will be a great story telling picture opportunity and I am really looking forward to capturing their day.
Here are a few pictures of the castle, unfortunately I wasn't able to take any pictures inside as it was during public opening times.

Wedding Photojournalist Association - Membership Approval

The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), is an international, membership-based organisation that represents professional photographers skilled in the documentation of weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style. - So I thought I had a better become a member.

My work was scrutinised by their membership committee and am delighted to say passed their standards for Photojournalist work. There are only a handful of members in Scotland so I am very happy indeed to be part of this small group.

The WPJA website holds a host of information invaluable to any prospective Bride & Groom looking for information on wedding photography. If you read this blog may I encourage you to visit their website and read through the information offered.

The WPJA also host quarterly international competitions, photographers from all over the world enter, so if I manage to pick up any awards I will certainly be sharing the news here.

Real Life Weddings

The latest issue of Real Life Weddings, published by The Scottish Wedding Directory, contains one of my weddings taken last year at Kilcamb Lodge.

Samantha & Stuarts wedding really will be a day that I will remember for a long time not just for the fantastic weather or the remote outdoor setting, but also for the fireworks display they had arranged that I had to capture at 11.30 in the evening! A very long but rewarding day!
