It's always a real pleasure to photograph a wedding on the west coast, the drive up is always relaxing with the beautiful scenery going by. Oban and Loch Awe were the destinations for Ann and Walters wedding, the forecast rain held off for most of the day and allowed us to get some lovely portraits pictures at Ardanaiseig Hotel on the banks of Loch Awe.

Sarah & Ali - St Andrews In The Square
Well it may have been a little wet and windy outside but it doesn't matter when your at St Andrews In The Square. Sarah & Ali had chosen a great venue for a spring wedding as the weather can be as it was wet, cold and windy. The weather did get better as the day went on which allowed for the family pictures to be taken outside on the steps and a few more personal portraits later in the evening against the fantastic backdrop of the St Andrews building lit up in floodlights.

Scottish MPA Awards 2009
Last Sunday the Scottish Master Photographers Association, held their annual print awards. I had entered a few pictures, no really expecting to pick anything up, but was delighted to learn that I had won the consumer award.
This award is chosen from all the photographs entered into the different categories (over 700 photographs) by a member of the public instead of the judging panel.
I think this award reflects my work rather well.

I photographed Eilidh and Chris's wedding a few weeks ago at Eilean Donan Castle, they are just back from honeymoon and I received this email from them a few days ago.
Hi Nick, can we just say how fantastic we think the photo's of our wedding are. We can't believe how well they have captured each part of the day. Everyone who has seen them (and we've sent them to practically everyone we know!) has commented on how amazing they are. In our opinion, there isn't a single shot which is less than excellent.

Teresa & Paul - Dalmeny Country House Hotel
Teresa and Paul had traveled up from Newcastle to have their wedding at Dalmeny Country House Hotel south of Glasgow. They were a lovely couple to work with, very relaxed and laid back.
I caught up with Teresa at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow as she made her final preparations before heading to Dalmeny. Paul seemed very relaxed when I arrived welcoming their guests for the day.
The day went without a hitch and although it was too cold to have their ceremony outside, we still managed to get some portraits in the gardens later in the evening.
